"Jean Jacket as a whole presents a very composed journey and structurally is near perfect"-Indietronica.org
"Jean Jacket, besides being lovely to wear in the spring, are a dreamy synth pop-electronic duo who’s gaining attention fast in Miami scene and beyond!"-Remezcla
"The only thing that'd make these guys cooler is if they performed in slashed and studded cutoffs".-Miami New Times
"Harlowe’s compositions are at once easy to understand and impenetrable, a complex tapestry that has to be felt instead of analyzed. The whole album is a testament to his attention to detail and immense vision, and lives up to the standard for any truly great piece of work by an artist"-Tropicult
"The sound is infectious and will have you tapping to the beat for the entire album. There is a great control over the synth grooves and beats. The songs are all complex, but beneath the surface lies a darker, contemplative feeling. It is not just an album of meaningless dance songs that can plague the electronic scene, it is synth music that places the focus on both the sounds and the lyrics"-WQHS.org
"Why We Dig Them: Jean Jacket leaves the ‘untz-untz’ beats and predictable EDM bass drops and build-ups at the door and focuses on drawing us into their sultry, passionate and thoughtful world — elevating our ears and bodies to another wave length. There’s no dumbing down of the sound and for that they get all the points".-Grimy Goods
"Jean Jacket Miami are here to create your musical backdrop- the dark red velvet drapes in an abandoned church for your ears.Echoing cool aesthetics of a synth based underworld, “Next To A Rosary Pt.2″ nods to the sweet foreshadowing of a time to come with hollow, yet heavy vocals".-Kick Kick Snare
"Jean Jacket, is one of the newest and more original bands from Miami. Their surreal and complex electronic melodies generated a big impact on the local scene and they are getting ready to hit the national electro-indie dance floors"-Too Much Love Mag
"Their debut single, “Super Party Cups,” is a moody and gloomy slice of indietronica that certainly contrasts the typecast flavor of electronic music that Miami is associated with — outfitted with dark synths, distorted bass, and a choppy guitar-line that invokes an 80s-era feel"-EDM Sauce
"Modern-day iridescent pop instincts to create a swirling miasma of moaning synth harmonies and sun-streaked beats"-Nooga.com
"With EDM being all the craze lately, it’s a special thing when an electronic band creates something outside of the trend. The wired, head-bobbing, mechanical beats and melodies from Miami’s Jean Jacket meet this criteria. They opt more for interesting sounds than instantly gratifying soundscapes. However, staying musical is a constant: grooves continue onwards as creator Harlowe G. makes synthesizer dissonance that doesn’t take away from vocal hooks unique to their sound"-Musicobsessed.com
Jean Jacket, fronted by Harlowe G., has taken the notoriously difficult Miami music scene by storm. Initially a solo project, the group features a changing lineup of performers alongside the mastermind, including the talented Stephanie Taylor, Alex Lopez from Krisp, and fellow local act Million Young. Harlowe wrote, composed, and produced the first album over the course of one year in 2012; the laid-back, retro-futuristic sounds create a sonic canvas for an album that is a “marvelously twisted ode to lust, loss, and everything in-between.” Harlowe worked on the album at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, alongside his longtime friend and producer, Josh Berg, before returning to the sunshine state to debut the self-titled work.
Jean Jacket’s live show features not only the surreal, complex melodies and dreamy vocals of Harlowe, but also customized projections that were made specifically for Jean Jacket to coordinate with the intense and immersive sound. Jean Jacket took the Miami scene by storm in early 2013, with performances all over the city; notably he’s performed shows during Art Basel, the annual event that combines music, fashion and art to draw some of the biggest names in the world. Jean Jacket has also played in LA, garnering a faithful, enthusiastic fan base which has fallen under the spell of Harlowe G.’s complex sonic creations. Jean Jacket continues to develop and expand its following, looking forward to enchanting more and larger crowds of people who appreciate sonically distinct experiences.
